Blockshop Premium Pack - Towny

Towny from Above

Towny is a versatile, player-controlled land management and economy game mode. Pick a job or two, earn some money and start your town! Towny allows players to work together or against each other as they see fit.

This pack comes complete and ready to play!  We've included 14 pre-configured plugins that will allow for fair and fun gameplay, but with minimal server administrative requirements.

Some anti-cheat features are included in this pack to ensure fair gameplay for everyone. Anti-Xray is enabled, and we've added Matrix anti-cheat, which does an awesome job blocking almost all of the common, game-breaking hacks.

Server Requirements

Minimum Server Memory: 1024 MB
Minimum Disk Space: 500 MB

When you activate this pack, all of the required server settings are configured automatically for you. All you need to do is join the server and play! When your server starts growing and you have lots of players, it's easy to expand this pack with MultiVerse. That will allow you to add a dedicated world for resource collecting, leaving the main world's wilderness (unclaimed) areas untouched.

When this pack is purchased, the server memory will automatically be upgraded to the minimum requirement of 1GB.  You must keep the server's memory upgraded or this pack will quickly run out of memory and crash, possibly corrupting your world in the process.

Client Requirements

Minecraft Java version 1.14.4.

/op has been DISABLED for all of our pre-made server packs.  Someone will inevitably give op to their friend, who ops their friend, and next thing you know spawn is full of TNT and we are asked to restore the server from backups.

You DO NOT NEED op permissions to be an admin on your own server! Instead, from the Multicraft Control Panel, click on Console, then make yourself an admin with the following command:

lp user YOURPLAYERNAME parent set admin

Where YOURPLAYERNAME is the name of your Minecraft player in-game. (DO NOT use a leading / in the console!) You will then have all the permissions you need to configure TNT Run and LuckPerms from in-game, as well as put yourself in creative mode so you can edit the arenas. Use /tr cmds  for help on TNT Run commands.

Everything is already configured for you, but there are many options you can change. Check the Towny Wiki page for more information about all of the options.

Lastly, please note that Anti-Xray has been enabled for this server pack. That means most of the precious ores in the ground will not be visible to players cheating with an xray mod.  We've configured anti-xray with the most conservative settings to ensure the best performance, but some items and ores will still be visible with an xray mod. You can increase the settings to where it randomizes all items in the anti-xray list, but the server performance will likely be affected.

Modifying Towny Spawn

To modify the Towny Spawn area, put yourself in creative mode with  /gamemode creative.   You must first make yourself admin by following the instructions above!

Mob spawning has been disabled in the Towny Spawn region. If you want to add more villagers or animals, you must first enter the command  /region flag spawn mob-spawning allow  while in the Towny Spawn area. When you're done, make sure you turn mob-spawning off or your spawn will be crawling with unwanted mobs as soon as the sun goes down: Use the command   /region flag spawn mob-spawning deny  to disable mob spawning again.

Player Instructions

Join the server and you'll spawn at the Towny Board with a basic survival kit and $250 in your account.

At the Towny Board, you can check your money balance, get a free $10 daily allowance, a free cookie, and click on a sign for a great YouTube tutorial on getting started on a Towny server:

On the other side of this wall is a Job Board. Here you can view the most common jobs, join or leave a job, check the quests for your active jobs, click on a sign to open the Jobs GUI in your Minecraft Client, and click a sign for a nice tutorial on how to make money doing various jobs.

At the end of the bridge that takes you to land there is a sign that you can use to teleport you to a random location on the map. Since the protected spawn area is fairly large, this is the best way to explore and find a location for your new town.

Be sure to explore the Towny spawn town. There's a free medical clinic where you will heal while inside the building, a boat dock where you can get a free boat, and more surprises!

If you ever want to return to the Towny Board, just type  /spawn
