Valheim Plus is a freely available MOD for Valheim that allows you to change and modify several features, mechanics and behaviors of your Valheim server, including building, gathering resources, map sharing, experience points and much more. Check out the Valheim Plus web site for more information about what it can do.
WARNING: Valheim Plus Clients cannot connect to Valheim vanilla servers!
Once you've installed Valheim Plus on your client, you'll need to delete all the Valheim Installation files (not your saved characters), and then reinstall Valheim before you can connect to a vanilla Valheim Server once again!
Install Valheim Plus on Your Client
To use Valheim Plus, it must be installed on both your server and your client. We've made the server part dead simple for you. Just select the Valheim version that says "plus" in your control panel MOD pack selection, click Save, and then restart the server:
Once your server has restarted, install the client version of Valheim Plus on your computer by following the instructions below:
Locate Your Valheim Installation Folder
To find your local Valheim installation folder, start up Steam, click on Valheim, click on the gear icon on the right side, and then click on Properties:
In the popup that appears, click on Local Files, and then click on the Browse button. This will open a Windows Explorer window where your Valheim installation exists:
Copy the path in Windows Explorer so you can use it in a minute.
Download the Valheim Plus Archive
You can download the Valheim Plus archive from Github releases:
Click on the WindowsClient.zip link to download the file. Save it to the location of your Valheim Installation folder you found just a minute ago. Go back to that Windows Explorer window and then extract the .zip archive to the same folder. (In this example, I am using free 7-Zip because I can't stand the built-in Windows archive manager, and 7-Zip supports RAR archives, among others.)
Make sure you over-write all the existing files:
Connect to Your Valheim Plus Server
Now start Valheim and connect to your server normally. Follow this guide for more information.
Change Server Configuration Settings
Once your Valheim Plus server has started, you can easily change the Plus configuration settings in your Control Panel. Click on Files and then Config Files in the menu:
In the next screen locate the entry that says "* Valheim Plus Configuration" and then click on it:
The next screen will be a full text editor. Make sure to READ all the comments to understand what each setting does before changing anything in the file. When you're finished editing, click on Save and then restart your server:
